2 DAYS TOURS FROM MARRAKECH TO OUARZAZATE

After discovering Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, we will visit the Taourirt Kasbah. Thami el Glaoui the Pacha of Marrakech was a big landowner. In the Ouarzazate region, he entrusted the ksar of Taourirt to his eldest son. El Glaoui transforms part of the ksar into a splendid Kasbah where his family resided until the independence of Morocco 1956. As the Kasbah is located in the center of Ouarzazate, it got a lot of care, the most of it was restored in the 80s; while the south side just restored in the last two years. Outside walls of Taourirt Kasbah are decorated with geometric Amazigh patterns. However, when you are inside the building, you will discover the richness of the decoration Glaoui puts in it. Some rooms are decorated with carved and painted cedar plank ceilings, paintings, and zelliges on the walls. If you take the Kasbah from its contest, in this case, the Ksar, it might not be as impressive as other ones in 1000 Kasab route. Atfer that we continue our way to the red city through the majestic Tizin Tichka (2260m) over tha high Atlas Mountains, arriving in Marrakech in the afternoon and overnight at your hotel / Riad.
