This 10-day itinerary takes you on a journey through Morocco, from the bustling city of Casablanca to the serene desert of Merzouga. Along the way, you will explore the rich history and culture of this fascinating country, visiting ancient ruins, imperial cities, and traditional villages.
First of all you’re very welcome in morocco so we’ll Pick up you from casablanca airport to your hotel
You’ll start your day visiting the Hassan II Mosque (from outside) , the largest outside Mecca and experience the coastal Cornish seaside. Go afterwards, we’ll leave for Rabat, the capital of Morocco. Here, you’ll see the Hassan Tower, the Oudaya Kasbah before checking in to your Riad at the heart of the Medina.
After the enjoying a wonderful day from Casablanca to Rabat, we will continue our journey toward Tangier, is Morocco's second most important industrial center after Casablanca. The city is in northwestern Morocco, on the coasts of the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. overnight at your hotel.
We continue our way to the small fortress town called Chefchaouen. Its buildings and houses are all painted in blue and it is one of the most beautiful towns in the Rif Mountains. Free time to explore Chefchaouen on your own. Overnight stay in a local Riad located in the medina.
After breakfast, the tour continues towards the worth visiting Roman archaeological site of Volubilis. Then we head to Meknes to visit former Imperial city and its most interesting monuments. In the late afternoon you will reach Fes and checking in a local Riad ot a hotel for the overnight stay.
The day will be particularly dedicated to the visit of Fes. This magnificent city is separated into three zones: Fez el¬ Bali, the old part. Fès el¬ Jdid, the modern and the old Medina, the French side. People who visit this city are completely captivated by is one of the largest medieval sites full of endless streets. Here are many things to visit: The Mellah. The Jewish Quarter, the Plaza of the dyers, Fes el Bali, the medieval medina of the city, Fes el Jedid, the new medina of Fes, the Andalusian Mosque, and many more sites. When the day ends, we will move to the riad where you will spend the night.
Today we’ll leave Fes travelling towards Ifrane, a beautiful mountain village, referred to as “the Switzerland of Morocco”. During this journey you’ll experience glimpses of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains. Stopping at the famous cedar forest (the largest in Morocco, you may well have the chance to see some Barbary apes. Afterwards we’ll travel through the Tizi Ntalghamt Pass to Midelt and along the magnificent Ziz Gorges carved through volcanic rock. After lunch you’ll travel to Merzouga via Errachidia and Erfoud. You’ll be travelling via the Ziz Gorge, taking in views of the High Atlas plateau, noting how the scenery changes to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the city of Errachidia. Afterwards, you’ll travel along the luxuriant Ziz Valley, stopping for panoramic views along the way to Erfoud and Rissani. Arriving at Merzouga in the afternoon, you’ll be welcomed with a glass of mint tea before checking in to your Berber Camp.
After breakfast in the Berber Camp you can start exploring the area. You’ll visit the Gnawa people, originally slaves brought from Sudan, to experience their music and lifestyle, whilst not far away there’s the lake of Merzouga with its bird populations. In the afternoon it’s time for your camel trek, guided by an experienced camel man as you set off to explore within the sand sea of Merzouga. Dinner is in front of the tent where you will spend the night (the camp in equipped with flash-toilets and shower).
Your camel man will wake you up early in the morning to watch what well may be the best sunrise of your life after which you’ll camel-trek back to the village of Merzouga admiring the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi sand dunes – changing with the light as the day progresses. After breakfast in the Riad, you’ll leave for Rissani, Tinghir and Todra gorges – the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco. Lunch in the heart of the gorge precedes a drive through the Dades Valley towards Kalaa M’gouna and Ouarzazate. The route through Dades Valley is the way of the thousand Kasbahs – providing numerous opportunities to take some of your best photographic shots of the trip. We’ll stop at Kalaa Mgouna, “the rose city”, to purchase the rosewater, which will make your linen smell good a long time after your trip is over. Overnight in your Hotel/Riad.
After breakfast you well enjoy the best views of the valley from one strategic lookout in the mountains, from there we can appreciate the great number of kasbahs and the scenic characteristics of each one. Then we continue by a road fo thousand kasbahs to Ait Ben Haddou passing by the cinema studios. Half hour driving from Ouarzazate, we will stop at ksar (fortified village) of Ait Ben Haddou where we will visit the famous Kasbah, declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Knowed by Famous films have been shot in this spectacular stage, including Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile and Games of thrones. Visite of the site and time for lunch in town. In the afternoon raod to Marrakech through the Atlas mountain by Tizi Ntichka with stops to take pictures. overnight in your hotel or riad.
We will start with the defining landmarkof Marrakech: its 12th-century tiled minaret of the Koutobia mosque. Then visit Palais Bahia: " A 19th-century palace which boasts a large courtyard, beautiful faountains, tiles, ornate wall-carvings, gardens, and is an excellent spot to find tranquility and marrvel at traditional Moroccan craftsmanship" . Continue to the intriguing Saadian Tombs, after their amazing discovery in 1917, this breathtaking site has been carefully restored and well cared for as it has become one the most popular attracions in Morocco. In the afternoon, explore the colorful souks (market places) of Marrakech. Each trade - spices, carpets, jewelry, enamel, copper, brass, and cedar - is situated in its unique quarter, and finish the tour at the frenetic Djemaa el Fnaa square. It provides ever-changing entertainment, reaching its climat at sunset when the square is alive with stroyellers, healers, snake charmers, acrobats, and countless food stalls.
